Holistic Dialogue is at the same time
an abstract concept;
an operational framework;
a deep personal and/or collective experience;
a platform for reflection AND action; and
and much more that we still need to discover :-).
When we use the term 'holistic', we refer to the principle of whole. This means that we are all connected and that what happens to one happens in the same moment to all the others through the many interdependencies that connect us all from the natural world (climate, ecosystems, etc.) as well as from the human made world (economy, financial flows, legal systems, travels, cultures, medias, etc.). Today international actuality let us be aware of this; global warming, all sorts of crisis but also world wide networks of intention to provoke change are revealing at a superficial level deeper natural and human realities.
With 'holistic', we also refer to what is bigger than the addition of the individual sub parts of the whole. using a holisitic approach to make sense of life experiences implies that we take many perspectives into account, encompass the abundance and emptiness, the parts as well as the space between the parts.
A holistic take on life supports the fluidity of interactions between the individual and the collective perspectives, between what we experience from within and what happens outside ourselves. By growing our mastery to navigate between the different levels of awareness, we expand the probability of making choices that are meaningful and sustainable.
We also have in mind the common use of the term 'holistic', basically trying to encompass the physical, emotional, mentla and spiritual dimensions of life.
When we use the term 'dialogue', we refer to the act of letting go of our opinions and join in a space of openness at the heart of human consciousness. Dialogue happens in the here and now. It requires that we are not prisoners of past thoughts and future plans to be able to attend what is, be it chaos, clarity or a combination of both and exchange with another about this experience. When we reach out for the state where dialogue can emerge, we can access untapped resources and body of knowledge, in particular of a collective nature.
A dialogue is not a discussion or a debate to win and impose an argument over another. It is not an intellectual activity where you expose the mastery of producing and analysing thoughts. it is a process where our entire being is part of, it is not an external experience one observes; it is a very immediate feeling of connection and of part taking. Through the practice of dialogue, we develop the ability to think together. this process opens completely new spaces for creating solutions and shaping the future as it emerges.
When we combine the two terms 'holistic dialogue', we refer to anew way of living. It is about being who we already are, to do what is meaningful for our species and become even more connected to the wisdom of life. Holistic Dialogue uses the collective potential of humanity by engineering very conscious processes to build on the self and transcend it to find new ways of collective interactions and activities to live to the full and with integrity.
Our role models: the quest to experience the creative impulse at the collective level drives us for some decades already. Contemporary authors have given it a frame and a face. In this field, among many other sources of inspiration, the work of Ken WIlber, Clare Graves, Ruth Cohn, David Bohm, Fred Kaufman, Peter Senge and Otto Scharmer has certainly been decisive for us to gain knowledge, make sense of our own insights and enable some transformation in our lives and the life of those in contact with us and in demand of it.
